Smyrna Maternity Pictures

Smyrna Maternity Pictures or maybe “crazy weather” would be a better title!

This Mama had her due date moved up and we didn’t have much time to fit in her maternity session. We picked the one day that didn’t have rain in the forecast but wouldn’t you know with Atlanta weather it poured all day. The time came, hair and makeup were done so we drove to the location and just sat and waited for a break in rain. We studied the forecast and decided it wasn’t going to stop before dark so we had to make a decision. We shoot indoors or we look for an umbrella and make the best of it. She decided she preferred going for it because a picture by the water was what she wanted most.

Out we went with umbrellas. It was cute and I called her Mary Poppins. I suddenly realized it wasn’t raining THAT hard and we ditched umbrellas risking hair disaster. Before we knew it the sun was out in full force making us look for shade. We feel like we received a little gift with the sun helping us out so much.

I love that this Mama said she had waited a long time for this baby and she was going to enjoy it and make sure she had some pictures to document the time before he was born. All Moms-to-be deserve that. I think about how priceless these maternity pictures will be to her son one day and it makes me smile!

This Mama and Daddy adore their baby girl. Her cheeks are so squeezable!

Looks just like her Mom!

smyrna baby and family

We met early one summer morning to capture this sweet baby girl with her mom and dad. Windows to shoot can be short with infants so we met in Smyrna close to home so there wouldn’t be a long commute. She is about 3 and half months old here which is a wonderful age to capture after a newborn session. She was full of smiles and expressions that were fun to capture. At this young age before a baby can sit up on their own, parents are the perfect backdrop to add to a session. The smiles come easy with a cute, easy baby! And, I personally love capturing parents and their reactions watching their precious little one.

how cute is her adorable lemon outfit?

Confirmation Class Joins Church on Palm Sunday

Family Time Smyrna

I had the honor of volunteering with the 2019 Confirmation Class over the last year. SFUMC tackled something new this year by extending the length of the class and offering it to 7th graders. It was quite the journey and I was proud to be in attendance (and take pictures) as the newest members of the church were presented!

Smyrna Duck Pond

smyrna sibling share

I’m officially about 2 years+ behind in session shares. That’s okay because these cute Smyrna kids can be shared at any time. I love the Smyrna Duck Pond and how it changes though out the seasons. The light can be fantastic in both morning and evening. Even better than the light are the goofy, toothy, smiles of this brother and sister. Such a fun age to capture!

smyrna sisters

Smyrna sisters are complete with the addition of their beautiful new baby sister. Aren’t they lucky?  And wasn’t I lucky to get to photograph their family on such a gorgeous day? Love this Smyrna Family!

I love the colors they wore. It has a definite Valentine’s-Vibe and why I am sharing them today!  Happy Valentine’s Day (and Ash Wednesday!).

very loved

smyrna family picture

It is time to jump back into this blog and post some of my favorite sessions from the end of the fall season. These sweet girls are as adorable in person as they look here. At the end of this photo shoot the little one hugged my leg and said “I love you.”  I regret not just taking her home forever right then and there!

Hope you enjoy the family pictures of this Smyrna Family!

Happy New Year!
