We did it.  We made it to Double-Digits today.  It is a major milestone for Evan to reach 10 years old but I feel like it is a milestone for me too.

I’m so thankful that he still went along with going to see Santa this year.  He did, however, inform me that he does not want to wear the same shirt as his brother anymore.  I matched their outfits as long as I possibly could.  I was thrilled when I was able to point out two teenage boys in line to see Santa and they were both wearing the same shirt.  I don’t want to know what that situation was all about – I’m just glad to make a point that he isn’t too big after all!

Below is his list to Santa and as you can tell he is pretty into video games.  I refused to buy him any more Legos for birthday or Christmas after having cleaned them out of my living room last week but maybe Santa will have mercy on him.  I know that Santa was incredibly patient to go through each child’s list so carefully.  Kate only had one thing on her list and Alex had a 3 page written copy of the Target catalog.

10 years ago 9/11 had just happened, the world was a different place and I was starting my journey through parenthood.  My husband was trying to convince me to use digital photography as I clung to my real camera.  Ha-ha.  I’m so glad I took that step and enjoyed taking a picture every day of my new little one.  I remember laughing a lot his first year – lots of joy.

He continues to ask hard questions as he always has since he could talk.  My most un-favorite one is “What person has counted the highest?”   This morning on the way to school he asked me if he was really my firstborn child.  “What?” I asked.  He said “I’m just checking to make sure you weren’t hiding a big secret from me and there was someone else born first.”  Nope… I could never keep that big of a secret!

Happy Birthday, Evan!

Happy Holidays!  With all the wonderful Black Friday deals out there I thought I would have one of my own.  I’m extending my Christmas deadline for Gorgeous Kotori photo jewelry, key rings and Christmas ornaments until December 1st.  After that Rush Fees will apply. These hand-made sterling silver products make the perfect gift!

Email me this weekend if you are interested and orders place by Monday will receive an additional 15% discount.

I’m going to have a new Christmas ornament made for myself this year.  They are waterproof and UV resistant, never tarnish and have the year engraved on the back.  With my discount you can have your favorite image from a session with me for $47 (plus tax).  It will be a beautiful heirloom keepsake that I can hand down to my children one day.  If you have ever seen how my children “help” me decorate our tree, you will know why I need high quality products!

Happy Halloween!  This is our annual family picture.  Check out the previous years right here.

It was a typical Halloween for us.  I couldn’t fit going to the pumpkin patch in my busy Fall schedule until all the big ones were gone.  The kids started eating candy before they even went out trick or treating and candy wrappers are all over my house.  This year Kate was Snow White (don’t even think about putting anything on her head or in her hair).  Alex was the Green Lantern and Evan was some character from Star Wars that I have never heard of.  He promised he would rake and bag the leaves in the yard for that costume.  Please note all the leaves in the picture above…

I’m stocked up on Reese’s Cups for the next few months week and will be starting my holiday weight gain.  I hope you all had as much fun as we did tonight.  I know I am so glad I got these Halloween pictures captured and can’t wait to see all of my friends’ pictures of their kids dressed up on Facebook.  I know people that never post will be posting pictures left and right of their special little Goblins.  I love that.

Boo!

I hope you find me at the Jonquil Festival this weekend in Smyrna.  I’ll be at a booth with Easy Edges displaying frames, albums and other fun stuff.  Above are some pictures of Easy Edges handmade clothing.  You know the Auburn dresses have to be my favorite thing.  I think the tie t-shirts for little boys are pretty cute too.

The Turkey and Pumpkin shirts are adorable (AND the Pants go with my Auburn shirt)!

Children grow up so fast.  I think it is fun to splurge on these cute custom made clothes while you can still get away with it.

Hope to see you this weekend.  It is supposed to be beautiful Fall weather and a great time to walk around downtown Smyrna and see your friends.  You might as well get a big jump on your Christmas shopping too. 🙂

I am officially on vacation for the next week.  As I look at these pictures I wonder if I shouldn’t just take a better camera.  Nah, too much trouble…I’m out to have fun.  We will be at Disney for at least a couple of days and I am preparing myself for the exhaustion this trip will bring.  I’ll be ready for a real vacation by the time we get back!

I hope your summer is off with a bang.  Can you believe this heat?  I will probably be slow to answer emails and voicemail over the next week.  I’ll be back to everyone at least by June 13th.

I’ll tell Mickey you said “hello”.

🙂

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  I hope you get some rest and relaxation with your family this weekend.  I am so glad school is finally out (I think).  We have a big weekend full of end-of-year parties, a dance recital and pool time with the family.

The City of Smyrna has a great Memorial Day Program downtown that is really educational for your bigger kids.  My oldest told me this morning that he thought the speaking program was too long.  It may have been for him but I think I remember him learning about real war heroes and getting a new perspective on what we are to be so thankful for.  Both of my boys really enjoyed the big equipment and trucks they had on display in years past.  That might be worth checking out if you have little boys that are fascinated with trucks, tractors and all things that GO!

I always post with a picture so I am sharing some images from a few weeks ago.  I wish I had some shots of my boys in this field when they were little.  Precious.  The first one is my most favorite.  It is so timeless and classic it could hang in any home and would make a wonderful gallery wrapped canvas.

Have a great weekend!
