A session share from one of my recent sessions in Marietta.  What a sweet family.  They have many fantastic pictures to choose for Christmas Cards this year.

I am holding Christmas Card Mini-sessions THIS Saturday afternoon in Smyrna if you need a last minute picture of your family or children.  This will be a short session focused on the family as a whole or children all together for the purpose of Christmas cards and gift prints.  I have 2 spots left if you are interested in the details. Contact me asap for the details if you think you are at all interested!  Update 11/8: All full!

I wanted to share a sample of what your family might wear for a photography session.  These particular outfits may not be your style, but you can take cues from the overall color theme.  The different layers of denim and blues are a great base and always timeless.  Throw in a few pops of a brighter color like the red above.  I must be partial to these colors as I did something similar for my own family a couple of years ago when my friend, Crystal, took our pictures.

We were all in Jeans (because that is what we live in and so US).  I had denim with different shades of browns and a few pops of red.  The green of summer is a nice backdrop and the red lets it still work well for Christmas Cards. This is a great way to go ahead and get your Christmas Card pictures taken care of as early as August and September.

Speaking of Christmas… I am debating on which day to cut off my Christmas deadline for Sessions.  I know it will be the first week of November.  So, if you would like to get a family session in this year now is the time to schedule it.  I have a set number of sessions I can take for children and families including High School Seniors.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!  We seem to have plenty of warm weather in Atlanta.  I have enjoyed a few cooler mornings over the past week — A LOT.

Heads up!

Save the Date!

Back to School!  What!?

It is hard to believe that this summer will ever end but I wanted the ones interested to mark their calenders NOW.  I am having my free back-to-school mini sessions on Friday, August 3rd all morning.  More details to come on scheduling.

Who can participate?  Any paid client EVER of mine that has preschool or school aged children.  It will be a quick 20 minute session at my Marietta Studio with an online gallery of 10+ images that you can order a la carte or I will have pre-designed collections you can purchase.  I personally LOVE the really bad school pictures that my kids have taken every year.  They are very nostalgic of my own school pictures and often very funny.  However, people have told me throughout the years “I wish you could do our school’s pictures.”  I can’t do that but this is my little gift to all my previous clients.  I especially love beginning of the year pictures because it is so amazing to look at them the following May and see how much each child has grown.

Happy Summer for now but I look forward to seeing some of you again in August before we start another milestone year!

More cute little kids in the gorgeous Spring morning light.  This little girly is just as spunky as my own and I love her Easter dress.  Her brother couldn’t be sweeter (and such a good helper)!

They are in the blue I love and back-dropped in all my favorite colors.  Their cute little faces should be permanent on my website!  Perfect Lisa Phillipson Photography branding, right? 🙂

TThis is my little love making a kissy face for you.  The best part of this picture is that I can see the Hello Kitty necklace she got for Christmas and wears almost every day (sometimes a Dora necklace will be substituted).  The necklace is held together by a very thin piece of elastic and it is only a matter of time before it breaks and is in a lot of pieces.  We will both be sad.  I never want to forget this time of life when Hello Kitty was such an important accessory in our lives.  🙂

I have never considered myself much of a Valentine person but I always help with the preschool Valentine parties.  I don’t know why except that it is a slower time of year and I probably need another excuse to eat chocolate.  One of the moms had a great idea to take these kissy face pictures for frames the kids would decorate.  I thought they turned out cute and it was fun to see which kids could and could not make a kissy face.  Apparently it isn’t that easy!  Here is a favorite:

And lastly, I leave you with a picture courtesy of my iphone of the lovely chocolate covered strawberries my husband sent me on the 13th.  We like to beat the crowd and celebrate early…always have.  A man who never remembers anything including what I said yesterday, but somehow remembers that I said I hate Valentine’s Day in 1997 sent these and I was thrilled.  The best  thing is that it recommended that they be eaten in 48 hours for freshness so I get to pig out and not be questioned on why they were gone so fast.  I don’t share chocolate (but I will give him ONE white one).  There are more than the 6 you see here but I won’t admit how many.  OINK!

It has been a busy week with 3 times the usual number of sessions for me (it is Fall/Holiday Season) and a day of packaging up many orders to be delivered.  A great day on the business front but I was most proud of taking some time to catch my own kids in action this afternoon.  Tomorrow Kate turns 4 and she is my absolute joy in life.  Such a sweet girl that played the piano (badly) and sang songs for me all afternoon.  I hope I never forget how she jumped around in such excitement talking about her “Belle and Football” party she is having tomorrow at my Aunt’s house.  This is her in her favorite green shirt that is a little too small for her.  She wears it any day I can not talk her out of it.  She wears a “pony” to school just for show to impress her girl-friends and then rips it out before the day is over.  She hides her eyes at night and whispers to me that she is worried about “the crickets” and listens to Laughing Pizza in order to fall asleep.  Love love love this age.  Wish I could bottle it up and keep it forever!

Happy Birthday, Kate, Canon!
