I decided I would put Client’s Christmas Gifts right on my own Christmas Tree until their orders were picked up.  No reason I can’t enjoy sweet little faces looking at me every day! I would love to have a Christmas Tree full of Organic Bloom frames.  I always have an 11 foot tree so that may take some planning!  I may have to look into an ornament stand and add to it throughout the year.  These little frames will be hard to part with for me!

The Organic Bloom 3×3 Ornament Frames in various styles and colors

This is a new item at Trader Joes that I came across recently.  I thought Cocoa Almond Spread might be rich with a dark chocolate taste.  I was surprised when it tasted just like chocolate icing – very sweet.  I put it on a rice cake and gave some to my little girl and she thought she was getting a really special treat (she was).  It is better than a cookie, right?

Merry Christmas!

Another newborn session share from my Marietta studio to make you smile.  This sweet little one was so handsome and by the looks of his parents you can see why.  I just love his little lips!

Below is a view of a black distressed Organic Bloom frame that his Mom chose to frame one of the black and white images from our session.  Most of the families I meet say they will probably move in the next couple of years so this black or any neutral frame is great to have because it will look wonderful anywhere.  It is very classic.  These frames also come with an optional glaze and a gold or silver glaze would really dress it up.  I have a black frame with a silver glaze on the way that I can’t wait to share.  It will frame a white invitation and is going to look great.

When you have an ordering session with me, it is my goal to make it very easy for you to get framed images on your wall.  I know it can be overwhelming especially if you think you might move in the near future or just don’t know what to do.  I have a lot of experience walking people through this process and in the end they have beautiful wall art they can enjoy every day.  In the last 3 weeks I JUST framed my own newborn image of my NOW 4 year old.  Her sweet baby picture is just now framed and hanging on the wall!  I don’t want any other new mom to have to wait as long as I did and in hindsight I wish I had walked away with a framed image ready to hang.  At least it is up now – it is never too late!

Happy Holidays!  With all the wonderful Black Friday deals out there I thought I would have one of my own.  I’m extending my Christmas deadline for Gorgeous Kotori photo jewelry, key rings and Christmas ornaments until December 1st.  After that Rush Fees will apply. These hand-made sterling silver products make the perfect gift!

Email me this weekend if you are interested and orders place by Monday will receive an additional 15% discount.

I’m going to have a new Christmas ornament made for myself this year.  They are waterproof and UV resistant, never tarnish and have the year engraved on the back.  With my discount you can have your favorite image from a session with me for $47 (plus tax).  It will be a beautiful heirloom keepsake that I can hand down to my children one day.  If you have ever seen how my children “help” me decorate our tree, you will know why I need high quality products!

“A boy’s story is the best that is ever told.”   –Charles Dickens

I loved the images from this session because they were so “boy” to me.  This young man always had a stick in his hand or was climbing on something.  I can appreciate this because of the two boys I have.  God made them that way…to want to pick up sticks and move around a lot.  In my all-boy sessions I try to catch a lot of moments without the new-found stick, but I don’t mind at all having a few shots of our favorite stick.  When he is 18 he may not pick out such great sticks or care so much about them!  I’m not sure – just guessing!  I just know if they do grow out of it us mothers will not mind so much in the years to come when we look back on it.

Now that I have mentioned the stick too much I have to show those images too (along with a feather):

We captured many wonderful portrait shots and I’m glad we also got so many fun images that show what being a six year old little boy is all about.  This is a great example of why albums are such a great idea in addition to your wall art.  Mom ordered several framed prints for the wall including a large family portrait and she also chose a collection with an album so she can have the whole story of this afternoon.

Here is a little preview of it below. They are getting frames in my most popular color sold of custom Organic Bloom Frames, Root Beer.  The album has gorgeous color on thick pages that are durable for even young children to enjoy over the years.

Disclaimer:  This little boy didn’t always have a stick in his hand.  He let his mom hold it for him and told me all about his first grade class at school. He told me who had not been so good this year and that he was VERY good.  I think I believe him.  He is a real sweetheart.

The Pressure.  The pressure of writing my first post on my brand new site.  Wow.  I don’t even know where to start or what to say.  I hope you love my brand new place on the world wide web.  It is so…me.  But, more on that later.  I haven’t officially announced the new launch of Lisa Phillipson Photography, however, I am still glad you found me so you can go ahead and bookmark this address.  You can still find my previous blog at www.phillipsonphotography.com.

I recently returned from Imaging USA in San Antonio, Texas.  Me and my closest 10,000 photographer friends were overwhelmed with classes, information and the latest custom photography products.  It was amazing and the weather alone was a nice break from Atlanta’s crazy climate this month.  I have lots of new ideas and was inspired by so many other people.  I can’t wait for all the new changes that will come with my business this year.

Above is one of my splurges on the tradeshow floor. It is a new camera strap for my Canon Mark II and a matching lens bag.  So me.  Other: I have several packages ready to send out this week and take a glimpse at my new business card and new branding.  I can’t wait for you to actually hold and feel that it!

I guess that is it for now.  Whew, I did it.  My first LisaPhillipson.com posting.  I am really trying to embrace imperfection so that I can allow myself to write more from the heart this year.  Wish me luck!
