It was a lovely day in Marietta for this funny guy’s Senior Portrait Session. He is off to college now and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!

atlanta-yearbook dedications

It is that time of year! Yearbook dedications and tribute pages are typically due to school yearbook committees at the first part of the year. I offer complimentary design for my full portrait family sessions through October. Designs are custom to each child with you adding your tribute wording. Often we use a student’s favorite colors and style for design. However, I love when the boys says “surprise me!” I think the Chalkboard background is my favorite.

Portrait Sessions should be scheduled 3 weeks to a month before tributes are due to your school. We can include an updated individual portrait of your middle school or high school student and a smaller size of the full family. Bonus – Christmas Card picture taken care of! 😉  Parents usually have a lot of questions about how this is done but it is easy…except for coming up with the perfect words straight from your heart to convey to your child!

A tribute page is a wonderful memento for your graduating child (and yourself). You will be so glad you did this in May!

Sharing a little fun with you to celebratae Valentine’s Day!

The NAPCP Retreat last month had a fun styled Senior Session for girls. I mostly opened packages of confetti and glitter (and then tried to pick up the mess I made!).  I was happy I was able to get a few shots of my own and thought I would share them on this Valentine’s weekend.  This was a fun set up using a lot of Target dollar store goodies and a few things from Amazon too. I think the real key to a gorgeous session is professional hair and makeup. These girls were professionally made up and styled and it shows. If you are scheduling your very special, once-in-a-lifetime Senior Portrait Session, I would highly recommend it. Oh, and add a little music too. 🙂

retreatCan you believe I have lived in Atlanta for as many years as I have and had never been to Reynold’s Plantation? I was there for a week last month and what a treat it was! The National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) had their annual retreat close to home this year which made it extra special for many of us. I was on staff working most of the time but still soaked up lots of great information and best of all saw a lot of photographer-friends I only get to see in person once a year. If you are a photographer specializing in children (newborn/families) or seniors, plan on attending one of these “Retreats” in the future. georgia-photography atlanta-senior-lightThere were Styled Senior Shoots with Amanda Holloway, Sarah Lane and Tash Haynes. An adorable Valentine’s Day theme that our models rocked! Dan Brouillette demonstrated lighting for everyone and showed his expertise.   We Periscoped a lot during the week for NAPCP and and Tash had these girls on the spot! They were thrown into the fire of Periscope but had fun watching the reply of themselves on my phone. 🙂 georgia-photographersNAPCP Prides themselves on lots of small details. georgia-photographer FOGo-BlogThe view of the Lake was amazing.

I hung out over my balcony and tried to take shots like the one above at sunrise and sunset most days using my Fuji X100.

I missed my family while I was gone but I have to admit, re-entry to life outside of the Ritz Carlton was pretty tough. It was easy to get used to everything (especially food) being prepared for you. And you can’t beat the easily accessible spa!

I bet you can’t tell that there were about a million people around us when we took these pictures! jewish flag youthWe took pictures near the water in a raincoat and bright purple boots.  We didn’t mean to get IN the water, but accidents happen…  Hailee is a good sport and so fun so we went with it and I’m so glad we got pictures of her splashing in the water.  Senior Session Wet WaterAnd lastly, my favorite – black and white.  I love how taking the color out really draws you in to her eyes and expression.  Timeless. senior girl black white portraitHere’s to the a fantastic Senior year of High School and a very bright future!

These two have been friends since they were little and I’m so glad we now have these pictures to mark the end of their high school careers.  They are both going off to the University of Georgia soon and I can only image the fun they will have.  They already look like Georgia Bulldogs, don’t they? high school senior girl senior girl picture best friend senior picture smyrna senior picture girls senior pictures girls smyrnaWhat is better than being silly with your girlfriend???
