It has been a busy week with 3 times the usual number of sessions for me (it is Fall/Holiday Season) and a day of packaging up many orders to be delivered.  A great day on the business front but I was most proud of taking some time to catch my own kids in action this afternoon.  Tomorrow Kate turns 4 and she is my absolute joy in life.  Such a sweet girl that played the piano (badly) and sang songs for me all afternoon.  I hope I never forget how she jumped around in such excitement talking about her “Belle and Football” party she is having tomorrow at my Aunt’s house.  This is her in her favorite green shirt that is a little too small for her.  She wears it any day I can not talk her out of it.  She wears a “pony” to school just for show to impress her girl-friends and then rips it out before the day is over.  She hides her eyes at night and whispers to me that she is worried about “the crickets” and listens to Laughing Pizza in order to fall asleep.  Love love love this age.  Wish I could bottle it up and keep it forever!

campbell high senior picturesMeet Libbie.  I could tell you what she was laughing about but I think it was one of those you had to be there moments.  Anyway, her dimples are to die for and she is just as sweet as she looks.

It has been a busy 2 weeks for me and this super Senior Girl has had to be so patient to see some of her images.  I couldn’t go another day without getting a little sneak peek up for her.  Although it was a dreary, rainy day, we still had lots of fun.  It gave us a good excuse to pull out the umbrella and rain boots.  🙂

It is dance day and oh, how we love dance day.  We wish we didn’t have to wait all day until 4 o’clock to get to what we love so much.  Kate loves going and I love that she loves going.  It is somehow my reward for living through toddlerhood with two wild little boys.  Pink tutus and tap shoes I can understand and get excited about.  These images above were Kate’s first tap shoes from last year.  She has since moved on to a bigger pair and continues to scratch up the wood floor in my kitchen.  You can see her standing patiently on her blue lily pad waiting on her turn to twirl across the room.  Imagine!?  My boys would have been running laps no matter what anyone said.  Amazing.

And don’t even get me started about her first ballet shoes.  Love.  You might find them this week at Kindermart if you look hard.  They no longer look this good but have lots of love in them.  🙂  I can’t believe I parted with them and am so glad I have this image to save forever.

First position?  She knows what first and second position are and we ask her to show us all the time.  It is too cute and makes my heart melt.  Poor boys…we never ask them to show us how they grip the baseball bat over and over.  They don’t seem to be too scarred by this (yet).  Luckily they think she is as cute as I do (most of the time).

This is such a sweet family and I’m so glad I got to capture them having a little fun with their kids.  Having a new baby and a 2 year old little boy can be very challenging at times (I speak from experience).  There is so much work and exhaustion.  There is also a lot of joy  and laughter and I think you can see that in this family.  They adore their kids and these images will only become more precious as the years go by.

I hope everyone is enjoying their families this summer.  I had LOTS of time with my family at Disney and some of it was even fun (ha).  More on that later.

I’ll be out of the office again through the weekend for a REAL vacation and look forward to my upcoming baby sessions next week!  I’ll be sure to answer all emails by Monday.

This picture is how you will find me at the Spring Jonquil Festival in Smyrna all day today.  I will be booking special mini-sessions for 2 days at the end of June.  You can only book today at the Jonquil Festival so I hope you can find me as these are the only mini-sessions I will offer all summer (and probably all year).  Come check out the details!  I will also have special portrait sessions (with gift frame) that are perfect for Mother’s Day gifts.  I am booked through June and I am so excited to fit in a few more people before the end of that month.

I will be trying hard not to spend all my money shopping with Easy Edges Studio who is with me.  She has the cutest stuff for kids and I can’t wait to buy Kate a pair of ruffle pants.  Those will come in handy since she refuses to wear dresses now (boo-hiss).

Meet sweet Cayden right in his own element:  Playing outside with sticks weapons.  He is everything that a two year old boy should be…active.  He is so lucky that he has a dad that knows how to run him around outside and wear him out every day!  In all that movement he is such a genuinely loving and sweet child.  I just love two year olds.  They are so cute and fun.  I hope he has a wonderful Easter with lots of chocolate bunnies and Easter eggs!

Happy Good Friday, everyone. I am working hard to catch up so I can enjoy Easter with my family and concentrate on the real meaning of it all.  I hope you get to do the same.
