senior portrait atlanta senior picture red blueLook at my beautiful Senior Models!  After our shoot for the June Our Town Cover we had a little fun. These two have been friends since they were little and I’m so glad we now have these pictures to mark the end of their high school careers.  They are both going off to the University of Georgia soon and I can only image the fun they will have.  They already look like Georgia Bulldogs, don’t they? high school senior girl senior girl picture best friend senior picture smyrna senior picture girls senior pictures girls smyrnaWhat is better than being silly with your girlfriend???

I had a great time hanging out with this group of Senior Graduates.  I was shooting the cover for this month’s issue of Our Town Magazine and we were ready to celebrate the beginning of summer and being out of high school forever.  Hanging out by the pool seemed like the perfect spot.  These Seniors have grown up in the Smyrna, Mableton or the Powder Springs area and started off together as preschool and early elementary students. And now look at them all grown up about to go off on their own.  Here are some favorite pictures of our time together. atlanta lifestyle teen seniors

fun smyrna photographerHow do you have fun in Smyrna? That is simple! You take a 2 year old to run and play and it doesn’t hurt having her extra fun dad full of tickles and throws in the air just for her. She laughed so hard her eyes were shut tight – the best kind of laugh! You will see things in a new way with a toddler. It is a lot more exciting to find flowers or see ducks and turtles through the eyes of a little one.  This little girl is precious and full of fun.  Hard to believe she will be a big sister soon! fun smyrna photographer fun smyrna photographer baby

Thanks for making my afternoon in Smyrna lots of fun, sweet girl!

Another one of my Seniors is off to college now. I was so happy to be able to get that last family portrait before he left to start a new chapter in his life.  I feel for the Moms sending off their boys. I can’t image how hard that will be for me. Luckily he isn’t too far away but I know their home is feeling a little empty right now. The future is bright for him so I am excited to see what is ahead for both of these boys!

Senior High School Boy and FamilyThe Light was lovely on this day in Smyrna!  I am so happy to be this family’s photographer – they are so genuinely kind and fun to be around.

As a bonus we were able to also capture updated pictures to mark 8th grade and the end of Middle School which is also a really special and exciting time.  Lots of milestones happening in this family!

I had so much fun photographing this family. They were easy-going and pretty funny.  It was a milestone for this family because their youngest has graduated from high school and they will now have two in college.  This was probably the last time they will have professional portraits made until someone gets married.  They certainly made the most of it and now have beautiful portraits hanging in their home to always remember this time.  I always encourage families with High School Seniors to have a family photo session after graduation while everyone is still home and able to take part.  It is amazing how hard it is to get everyone together once kids start moving away.

It is a great time for High School Seniors to have their portraits made. I still have some spots just for Seniors next month so contact me if you need more details.  The light in the late afternoon is gorgeous!

This year I have been working with The Gold Hope Project to help Fighters and Survivors of pediatric cancer.  I had a session with a local “Fighter” recently.  I am so happy to now know Audrey, her mom and also her dog, George. Audrey is a Fighter for the second time with Neuroblastoma and has started chemo again this summer with a phase I trial at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.  We met one morning in Smyrna the week she started this new trial.  When I asked her mother what made Audrey the happiest she said “Dogs” so it was important to me to have George be a big part of our session.  I am so glad he was there.  I don’t think he cared much about having his picture made but he really brought out Audrey’s personality.

I ask all prayer warriors reading this to please pray for Audrey and her family. Please pray that the trial she is currently on is successful and mostly pray for a miracle as that is what is needed the most.  You can read more about Audrey’s story on Gold Hope’s Facebook page HERE.

If you know any other child under the age of 21 that is currently a “Fighter” of cancer or one that is a “Survivor” of the disease, you can direct them to The Gold Hope Project Site so they can apply for a session of their own and help spread awareness of pediatric cancers.  They can request me as their photographer or another one if they are not local.  It is an International organization with hundreds of photographers waiting to donate their time and give to others what they do best.
